Version 2.5 of iCab for Macintosh is out, at last supporting CSS, albeit in a limited way. In terms of typographic structure, it’s roughly as reliable as Netscape 4.7 (i.e., not terribly), but has none of the bloat and erraticism that makes Netscape, to paraphrase Ben Brown, sometimes sublime and sometimes like a drunken man waving a gun.

One exceptional feature of iCab is its ability to block certain JavaScript tags, notably the mephistophelean popup window (as seen at Geocities, et al.), and also to filter certain images by size and by source, making the blocking of ads a breeze.
