I do think you might acknowledge how calm I am after ordeals undergone and lessons learned in establishing once and for all that free DNS services are free for a reason. To anyone who sent email to cardigan.com in the last day or so: those messages have been lost to the air and will go unanswered (unlike, say, all the other email I don’t answer).

But while free DNS services merely cause grief, Network Solutions sucks all that is good and true from the universe. You’d think that after having its monopoly slapped out of its hands the company might try a tad harder, but, oh, no.

On the positive side: Luke (whose Qube is the new host for cardigan and textism) is an exceptionally excellent admin: there were some MySQL setup issues which were resolved, I learned, once he “went downtown and bought a book.”

Now that’s what I call tech support.
