Some seem to be taking issue with yesterday’s passing assertion that Ally Mcbeal is the very worst television show ever produced. Though none question the enormity of the awfulness of that show, there are those who offer competing examples such as The San Pedro Beach Bums, Street Legal, and that terrible, horrible BBC series of A Year in Provence with John Thaw looking as though he went twelve months without taking a dump.
Nonetheless, just as I am convinced that the worst song ever recorded is Billy Joel’s “We Didn’t Start the Fire”, that the worst album ever released is Please Hammer Don’t Hurt Em, that the worst film ever produced is Dead Poets Society, that the worst video ever shot is “Cold November Rain”, that the worst magazine ever published is One: Design Matters, I am convinced that Ally Mcbeal is the worst TV show of all time.
