Look Over There · 10 October 2003

Certain licensees of the leading-edge web-ready enterprise computing platform Microsoft Windows appear to have farted bricks at yesterday’s site redesign. The body typeface was switched to Courier – partly out of a misty nostalgia for the salad days of Cardigan Industries, when I still had a sense of humour, but mainly to irritate those who wrinkle their nose at Courier – which does tend to look like ass on Windows machines.

While it would be nice if there were more to choose from, Georgia and Verdana, designed by Matthew Carter and hinted by Tom Rickner, remain the only consummate achievements in screen type on multiple platforms. They just work. So here they are once again.

Others meanwhile are grousing that the roast pork recipe posted below is in fact a braised pork recipe. To this I say feh.
