Our two black labradors Billy and Tessa – now long gone – were pioneers of water-based synchronized stick chewing back in the heady days of the 1990s. Amazingly, neither of them drowned, but then neither did they ever manage actually to swim anywhere, apart from in circles. Perhaps that was the point though, and it didn’t half make us laugh.
