ONE · Leather-clad man at the pump, sitting on a motorcycle, helmeted, filling the gas tank, a lit cigarillo between his teeth.
TWO · Faintly annoyed man, short, fiftyish, his spectacles parked in the middle of his forehead, ordering one of everything at the butcher. Fifteen minutes later he is seen strolling empty-handed through another part of the market, his wife behind him, carrying the bags.
THREE · French mooks: teenage boys in tocques and enormous trousers, bristling menacing ’tude on a small town streetcorner.
FOUR · Assistant manager stares blankly at shrieking customer.
FIVE · Tall, balding, po-faced expatriate Canadian wanders supermarket aisles looking for the goddam dryer sheets.
